 A hydrophobic bioactive component called curcumin (diferuloylmethane) is found in the rhizome of the C. longa. It has received a great deal of attention recently due to the variety of biological and pharmacological actions it contains. However, for its successful therapeutic applications, its low water solubility, poor bioavailability, and rapid metabolism represent significant drawbacks. In order to improve curcumin's biological and pharmacological activity and get around its limitations, researchers have developed effective delivery methods, particularly nanoencapsulation. Curcumin nanoformulations (Nanocurcumin), which increase all the biological and pharmacological benefits of curcumin, have a satisfactory potential, according to research efforts done till and data from the literature. This was previously not significantly possible.
